At IQRA, we aim to revive the true, correct, and beautiful recitation of the Qur’an through structured, certified, and spiritually uplifting instruction. Our goal is to make quality Islamic education accessible to everyone—regardless of location—through both online and in-person teaching.

Hafiz Maulana Fakhrul Islam
Founding Director & Principal, IQRA Academy
An internationally recognized teacher and scholar, Maulana Fakhrul Islam has devoted his life to both academic and Islamic education with Qur’anic excellence.

Hafiz Maulana Md Fakhrul Islam is a Quran and Tajwid educator, Islamic motivational speaker, curriculum designer, and the Founder & Director of Islam Quran Research Academy (IQRA) in Sydney, Australia. He is committed to providing authentic, structured, and spiritually focused Quranic learning for students of all ages through qualified teachers and proven learning methods.
He began his Hifz Al-Quran journey in 2013 under Sheikh Abu Bakr Abdurrouf (South Africa) and completed his memorisation at Madina Quran Academy under a team of qualified Qurra and sanad-connected teachers including Sheikh Hussary Elahi, Hafiz Mohammad Masood, Sheikh Musharraf Bin Khalid, Sheikh Yousef Nasr, and Sheikh Ahmed Hajjaj Ahmed Yousef.
He later completed the Alimiyyah / Bachelor of Islamic Studies (Fadil) through Darul Uloom Online with studies in Quranic sciences, Hadith, Fiqh, Arabic grammar, Nahu and Sarf, Tafseer, and Usul al-Din under respected scholars including Mufti Yasir Nadeem Al-Wajidi, Shaykh Muhammad Bilal, Maulana Abdullah Jalal, Maulana Mehmood Asghar, Maulana Zubair Ahmad, Maulana Omar Abbasi, Maulana Farhan Haq, and Maulana Mafuz Matin.
Alongside his Islamic studies, he holds multiple academic qualifications including Master of Information Systems, Master of Biostatistics, and Master of Science (Statistics), supported by ICT and teaching certifications. His combined expertise in Islamic scholarship and modern education enables him to develop learning systems that are structured, engaging, and impactful.
His mission through IQRA is to ensure that every Muslim — child, youth, adult, or revert — has access to a clear, guided, and authentic pathway to learn and love the Quran, recite it with excellence, understand its message, and live with strong Islamic character.
