Surah Al-‘Imran (3:159)
Translation (Ibn Kathir Abridged): And by the Mercy of Allah, you dealt gently with them. And had you been severe or harsh-hearted, they would have broken away from around you. So pass over (their faults), and ask (Allah’s) forgiveness for them; and consult them in the affairs. Then when you have taken a decision, put your trust in Allah. Certainly, Allah loves those who put their trust (in Him).
Tafsir Ibn Kathir (Abridged): After Uhud, companions made mistakes, yet the Prophet ﷺ forgave them, prayed for them, and consulted them. This ayah teaches leadership: mercy, forgiveness, consultation, and tawakkul.
Lesson: Leadership is founded on mercy and trust in Allah.

Surah Al-Ahzab (33:21)
Translation (Ibn Kathir Abridged): Indeed, in the Messenger of Allah you have a good example to follow for him who hopes for (the Meeting with) Allah and the Last Day, and remembers Allah much.
Tafsir Ibn Kathir (Abridged): The Prophet ﷺ is the perfect example in worship, patience, courage, manners, and dealings. Following him leads to success.

Surah At-Tawbah (9:128)
Translation (Ibn Kathir Abridged): Verily, there has come unto you a Messenger (Muhammad ﷺ) from among yourselves. It grieves him that you should receive any injury or difficulty. He is anxious over you; for the believers he is full of pity, kind, and merciful.
Tafsir Ibn Kathir (Abridged): Allah describes His Messenger ﷺ as Ra’uf and Rahim. He felt the pain of his ummah and desired their guidance and well-being.
Lesson: Love for the Messenger ﷺ is shown by following his Sunnah.
Conclusion
The Qur’anic verses and Ibn Kathir’s abridged tafsir show that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ embodied the highest character and deepest mercy. His Sunnah is the practical application of the Qur’an. May Allah enable us to follow his noble character. Amin.
